The Stellarator Theory & Computation group in the Department of Applied Physics and Applied Mathematics at Columbia University is hiring a Postdoctoral Research Scientist. This scientist will design permanent magnets to confine an equilibrium with precise quasiaxisymmetry for a future University-scale stellarator experiment. The work scope will include the development and execution of numerical optimization software to obtain the optimal arrangement of magnets consistent with engineering constraints.
